Summary
The NACHIP Consortium has officially launched its first Open Call for proposals, inviting SMEs to submit projects that contribute to strengthening the emerging hydrogen value chains across manufacturing, urban areas, and mobility.
The deadline for application submissions is 3rd February 2026.
The Call supports projects proposing innovative solutions aligned with NACHIP’s strategic objectives and demonstrating high technological maturity (TRL > 7). SMEs have the opportunity to join the NACHIP framework by offering solutions that can be integrated into real-world pilot settings, contributing to technological validation, industrialisation, and future market readiness.
Eligible applicants include technology developers, component suppliers, hydrogen solution providers, digital and data solution providers, and integration-focused industrial SMEs residing in the eligible EU cohesion regions. These include entities established in the NACHIP partner countries — Slovenia, Croatia and Italy (Friuli-Venezia Giulia, Veneto, Lazio, Umbria) — as well as specific regions of additional EU member states listed in the official Open Call documentation.
Evaluation of proposals will be based on strategic relevance, feasibility and alignment with NACHIP technical needs. Successful applicants will be granted funding following implementation of their action plan, participation in capacity-building activities and dissemination of results.
Each SME may receive up to €60,000, depending on the scope and needs of the submitted project and its alignment with target hydrogen value chains deployed within NACHIP’s five pilot projects.
Selected proposals will be funded at 100% of eligible declared costs under the Financial Support to Third Parties (FSTP) mechanism.
The total available budget for the 1st Open Call is €540,000. A second Open Call is planned for launch in Q4 2026.
